Getting around Zadar
Taxi tips:
Taxi prices are reasonable in Zadar and are a great way to get around, but there are a few things to keep in mind.
Every taxi company has different rates.
Before you get in a taxi ask how much the total charge will be to your destination.
35 Kuna is average for a 5 kilometer trip. Zadar is a small city so 5 kilometers is usually the average distance.
Anything over 50 Kuna for a taxi ride in Zadar is a sure sign your being over charged.
If you are arriving at the airport, which is about 17 kilometers away (depending on your exact destination in Zadar)
if you do not have a taxi reservation set with a fixed price you will most likley be overcharge. I have seen this happen soo many times and the taxi drivers take advantage of the tourists at the airport. This is why I always advise that you ask your property manger or agent to book you a taxi at the airport with a fixed price. You should not be paying more then 180 Kuna's for a 17 kilometer trip.
When choosing a taxi company I recommend taxi lulic because they are the most profesional and on time when you make a reservation.
The cheapest taxi company is taxi Denis, they are good to use if you see them on a street, but not reliable for reservations.
Keep in mind that in the high season if you need a taxi reservation to go to the airport you should reserve it at least one day in advance because all the taxi companies are very busy.

If you are visiting the old city and need a ride back to your apartment, see below which taxi stand to use.
At this location the taxi distance is shorter to your destination so your price will be cheaper.
